Dr. Loera was born and raised in Montebello, California and attended high school at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He received a Bachelors of Arts in Physiology and Cell Biology from University of California, Santa Barbara. Afterwards, he attended medical school at University of California, Irvine – California College of Medicine and went on to complete his Residency in Internal Medicine at Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center – University of California, Irvine in 1992.

Dr. Loera presently practices primary care internal medicine. His areas of interest include diabetes and other metabolic syndromes, specifically hypertension, high cholesterol, and promoting healthy living habits. He is also interested in rheumatologic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, and respiratory illnesses, such as COPD and asthma. Additionally, Dr. Loera has developed an interest in regards to male health issues.

In his spare time, Dr. Loera enjoys spectator sports and practices American boxing and kickboxing. He is a firm believer that if he does not practice a healthy lifestyle, he cannot tell his patients to. He also enjoys traveling to the river and boating. Dr Loera is happily married and has four children.
